Commissioning Engineer

We are looking for a full-time Commissioning Engineer to join our Richmond office. This position reports to our Director of Construction Administration.
Purpose – We are looking to fill our entry-level Commissioning Engineer position. This position supports the commissioning team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with and respond to directions from Principal in Charge (PIC), and Senior Management.
Perform all aspects of commissioning mechanical systems (specifically HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing) including setting up commissioning plan, organizing reports and providing final copy to the owner.
Work independently with limited direction. Monitor project schedule and manage time to meet the Cx and submittal dates.
Coordinate and communicate all aspects of commissioning process within multi-disciplinary teams.
Prepare accurate and complete commissioning programming, pre-function, startup and functional documents. Prepare detailed documents and combine to create a full commissioning report.
Ensure compliance with quality control policies and procedures and provide peer reviews for other engineers and designers.
Collaborate with all associates on all aspects of mechanical and electrical. Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to verify the MEP systems are integrated seamlessly into building designs.
Ensure compliance with international mechanical code, local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Provide reports using vendor software (Bluerithm).
Become proficient in the use of drafting software programs including AutoCAD and Revit
for reviewing systems and verifying conditions.
Provide and supervise commissioning services during the construction process, i.e., preparing reports, witnessing testing, verifying conditions, etc.
Review mechanical and electrical construction phase services including RFI’s, shop drawings, as-builts, etc.
Provide technical support to construction administrators during construction and commissioning phases.
Troubleshoot system issues and recommend solutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Qualifications can be a combination of:
Several years of field experience with HVAC systems and controls
Completed a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
Trades license, design experience, or BAS controls experience a plus
Commissioning certification or willingness/ability to get a certification from an industry recognized organization within a calendar year.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive applications.
Be proficient in written and verbal communication.
Assist design engineers in initial field work and investigate constructability of project.
